Sarah D. Saltzer, Managing Director, Stanford Center for Carbon Storage

The Stanford Center for Carbon Storage is happy to announce that Sarah Saltzer is joining us as the new Managing Director.

Sarah brings 25 years of experience at Chevron Corporation where she held a series of scientific, managerial, and executive roles. She has a diversity of experience in positions of increasing responsibility, including geology research and teaching, petroleum engineering on massive offshore fields, bidding for offshore parcel exploration rights, leading exploration teams, corporate relationship manager to Stanford University,  competitor analysis and business planning, executive responsibilities for all business operations for Chevron’s multi-national environmental remediation company, and responsibility for SEC-mandated reserves reporting.

Sarah’s experience in working across cultures and languages in 10+ countries, managing partner relationships with competitors, working with C-suite executives, and guiding corporate strategy make us excited to have her lead SCCS.

Dr. Saltzer holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University, M.S. and B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and corporate annual reports.
